Stargirl, the DC Comics TV show, is returning soon for its second flavor. The new installation brings with it an ominous villain and some new heroes, and showrunner Geoff Johns teases what to expect from the review in conversation with SFX Magazine.

This year's big worse is Eclipso. An evil being known for possessing individuals that come into contact with shards of his black ball field, Eclipso represents corruption, hate and payback. But his apodeictic gift lies in exploiting people's weaknesses and established pain.

"Eclipso is pretty formidable and all virtually darkness, which is great to go up against individual who is all approximately light, same Courtney and the Justice Fellowship," Jasper Johns explains. "There's these colliding ideologies and powers and drives that really help generate strong emotional stories, that dispute each of our characters singly. They each work through something that is really personal to them. That's what Eclipso does best. Atomic number 2 makes things very personal. Helium turns over rocks that you might non want him to turn of events over."

It's not all risky news. Courtney and the Justice Society will protrusion into some potential new allies... even if they start sour on the wrong foundation. There's Tire, the daughter of Green Lantern Alan Winfield Scott, speedster Jay David Garrick, and the magical chromatic imp, Thunderbolt.

"Mollify two gives us a bump to deal with the other two artefacts that Courtney stole: Alan Scott's lantern and Johnny Skag's pink pen," explains Johns. "Those two elements play into the story jolly early on. And where Jade is, her buddy Obsidian for sure can't glucinium far behind...

"We haven't seen a character wield the power of Green Lantern for a aware, long time on TV. And the Thunderbolt has never been on the blind before in bouncy-action. That was also a great dispute."
